We want to thank everyone who helped spread the word and raise matching funds to fight blindness before Christmas. We just got the reports back and since everything was matched TWO times by such generous contributions, together we raised almost $28,000!!!

Of course, we're still working on this and want to continue fighting for Lucy and others with these issues. Remember all proceeds from our book go to these foundations and of course, they'll accept any donations people want to send directly their way.

Lucy's future self is thanking everyone from the bottom of her heart...and I'm sure the future hearts of others who will be blessed because of this are swelling up too.

Thank you!!

  1. I just wanted to say hello. Your blog popped up on my Retinal Degeneration blog feed today. My daughter is 3 and was diagnosed with Lebers Congenital Amaurosis (LCA) last summer. We did a lot of fundraising and walked in Vision Walk last fall for the Foundation Fighting Blindness. It is a great cause! Your daughter is very beautiful. :)

Like I said, I just wanted to say hi. Our daughter still has her sight as well, but we still don't know for how long.

  2. You don't know me either but I just wanted to say hi, and congratulate you on your fundraising for FFB. The vision walks are so wonderful and all the people you get the chance to meet. I heard your story on my cousin Wendy's blog (The Shabby Nest). My brother suffers from a-typical RP and it is an awful disease. I hope and pray with all my heart that they will find a cure for your sweet Lucy. My brother is 35 and still has a tiny bit of his vision so there is hope that we can find a cure for your little one.
